About Govind Guru Tribal University
Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU), located in Banswara, Rajasthan, is a state public university established in 2012 under the Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University Act. Originally named Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University, it was renamed in 2016 to honor Govind Guru Banjara, a revered tribal freedom fighter and social reformer who played a pivotal role in the Bhagat movement in the early 20th century. The university's primary mission is to promote higher education among the tribal communities of southern Rajasthan, particularly in the districts of Banswara, Dungarpur, and Pratapgarh. GGTU offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs across various disciplines, including Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, and Education.
