The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) is a Government of India scholarship under the Ministry of Education. It is designed to support meritorious students from economically weaker families who want to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The main aim of CSSS is to ensure that talented students are not forced to discontinue their higher education because of financial problems.
🎯 Who Can Apply?

Students who scored above the 80th percentile in Class 12 board exams

Enrolled in regular degree courses (BA, BSc, BCom, BTech, etc.)

Family income below ₹8 lakh per year

Studying in recognized colleges/universities
💰 Scholarship Amount

₹12,000 per year for first three years of graduation

₹20,000 per year at postgraduate level
Selection is done through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is purely merit + income based. There is no entrance exam for the scholarship.
Students must maintain satisfactory academic performance to renew it every year.
