KVPY is a national-level scholarship program initiated by the Government of India to encourage students to take up research careers in basic sciences. It is administered by IISc Bangalore.
KVPY is targeted at students studying in:

First year of B.Sc., BS, or Integrated M.Sc.
The goal is to identify scientific talent early and nurture it through financial support and mentorship.
Selected students receive:

KVPY is considered a gateway scholarship for future research programs like INSPIRE, JRF, PMRF, etc.
