Competitive Exam Details

Candidates aspiring for the Indian Postal Service must appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, a three-tier national-level exam consisting of the Preliminary exam, the Mains exam, and a Personality Test. The Preliminary stage is objective, testing current affairs, history, geography, economics, polity, environment, and aptitude. Those who qualify move to the Mains examination, which is descriptive and includes Essay, four General Studies papers, two language papers, and two papers of an Optional Subject chosen by the candidate.
